The aim of this book is to provide the supervisor with a sound knowledge of supervisory principles and modern techniques which are consistent with the findings of the management theorist and the social psychologist. It is not a book on "how to win friends and influence them'. Nor is t book which lists 'do's' and don'ts' for the supervisor. The book is written on the assumption that the supervisor will gain insigh into human behavior so that he may learn to understand social situations, and thus be more competent to discharge his functions in the work place.
