Management Science: Qantitative Methods in Context is designed for students who aspire to be managers in the private or publicsectors or for staff cnsultants to those managers. Emphasis is gven to the application of the various quantitative techniques most oftenpracticed today as oppsed to a theoretical development. The chapters typically begin with the statement of a decision proble followed by an analysis of the problem using quantitative techniques. The theory is introduced as needed within the context of the decision-making process. Although all of the necessary theory for each quantitative technque is presented as generally as possible, the text emphasizes the rigor of the decision-making process and provides a liberal amoun of intuition elating to thetheoretical development.
