This book presents a detailed road-map for meeting the chalenges of a competitive, globalized world, where value creation may occur across nations and organizational boundaries. As part of his road-map, the author puts forward a series of strategic, inter-independent managerial processes, which would enable the transformation to total quality to be made systematically and in a way that embeds the approach in the DNA of the organization.
This book dispels the erroneus notion that total quality is beyond the realm of practicing line managers, and can only be put into place by outsiders or those in staff functions. Beginning with the fundamental ideas of total quality, which are presented in the first three chapters, each chapter thereafter explains in detail the essential enablers of total quality that need to be actuated simultaneously, for an organization-wide transformation, led by insiders. Some of the pitfalls thatb may be encountered in the road to change are highlighted in the last chapter.
